Process of Issuing Investment Registration Certificate in Vietnam
(For Foreign Investors)

1. Projects must apply for an investment registration certificate
– Investment projects of foreign investors (100% foreign capital);
– Investment projects of economic organizations with capital from foreign investors (50% foreign capital or more).
2. Required documents
2.1. If the investor is an individual:
– Investor’s passport;
– Statement of investor’s bank account balance (Bank account balance must be at least equal to the contributed capital);
– Location rental agreement/location lease contract of the Company intending to implement the project with the lessor.
– Some other documents depending on the specific investment project.
2.2. If the investor is an organization:
– ID Card/Passport of the representative of the capital portion of the organization that is the investor;
– Bank account statement of the organization that is the investor (Bank account balance must be at least equal to the contributed capital);
– Audited financial statements for the last 2 years of the organization being the investor;
– License of the organization being the investor;
– Charter of the organization that is the investor;
– ID Card/Passport of the legal representative of the company expected to implement the project;
– Location rental agreement or location rental contract of the Company intending to implement the project with the lessor.
– Some other documents depending on the specific investment project.
Note: Foreign documents must be consularly legalized and translated into Vietnamese with certification.
3. Implementation time: 30-50 working days (depending on the specific investment project).
4. Licensing agency:
– Management Board of industrial parks, export processing zones, high-tech zones, and economic zones: Investment projects in industrial parks, export processing zones, high-tech zones, and economic zones;
– Department of Planning and Investment: Remaining investment projects.
